The story behind the build
My parents needed a machine for video calls, taxes, documents and schoolwork — and they wanted it silent. No GPU, no RGB, nothing that spins louder than a whisper.
The 14400's integrated graphics handle 4K video playback flawlessly, and the whole system draws about 22W at idle, so it can stay on all week without worrying the electricity bill.
Total cost was Tk 48,500 including a second-hand monitor from a neighbour. For a family machine, this is all anyone needs — and it will be for the next five years.
Builder's tips
- →An office build does not need a GPU. Spend that money on a good IPS monitor instead — it is what you actually look at.
- →16GB of RAM is the minimum for a family machine in 2026; video calls plus a dozen browser tabs will eat 8GB instantly.
