The story behind the build
I started this build in April with one goal: a quiet, gorgeous gaming PC that could hold 240Hz at 1440p for the next four years. The 9800X3D was the obvious CPU choice — nothing touches it in CPU-bound games — and the RTX 5080 gives me headroom for path tracing without paying the 5090's absurd premium.
The O11 Dynamic with reverse-blade fans keeps every component cool while staying almost silent under load. I spent a full evening on cable management with custom-length cables, which is the only reason the side view looks this clean.
This is my third build and by far the most satisfying. If you are on the fence about OLED for gaming, the LG 27GS95QE ruined every other monitor I own.
Builder's tips
- →Buy the CPU and motherboard from the same shop so warranty claims are handled by one party.
- →Enable EXPO in BIOS before benchmarking — out of the box DDR5 runs at base speeds.
